Masterchef Live 2009
Luis Felipe Edwards & Wines of Chile
Olympia, London
Friday 13th-Sunday 15th November 2009
The BBC Goodfood Show, now known as Masterchef Live opened its doors in London Olympia, 13th-15th November.
D&D Wines were in attendance on the Wines of Chile stand with the Luis Felipe Edwards’ Reserva range of wines.
The show offered a fantastic foodie day out featuring all the BBC Good Food Show favourites as well as new and interactive features from the nation’s favourite foodie tv programme, Masterchef.
The Invention Test
Fearsome judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode, joined by Terry Wogan and Michelin starred chef Michel Roux Jnr put aspiring MasterChefs through their paces in a series of 30 minute ‘Invention Tests’ to prepare a dish using a selection of mystery ingredients.
The Cookery Experience
Head to head ‘cook-offs’ between past Masterchef winners.
Masterchef Live Theatre
Sponsored by Wines of Chile the popular live Theatres consisted of over 25 free demonstrations and Q&A sessions from celeb chefs such as Stuart Gillies (Boxwood Café), Helen Puolakka (Skylon), Theo Randall and Lawrence Keogh (Roast), as well as Celebrity Masterchef contestants such as Nadia Sawalha, Liz McClarnon and Steve Groves, recently crowned the winner of Masterchef.
The event also boasted London’s biggest indoor Farmers’ Market and many different wine masterclasses and workshop sessions.
Luis Felipe Edwards Reserva wines made star appearances at the event having not one, but two wines from the range qualifying as recommended wines of choice for celebrity chef Henrietta Green and James Nathan’s Masterchef Live Theatre demonstrations with the theatre demonstration host, Nigel Bardon, alongside introducing consumers to LFE wines, their qualities and qualifications for pairings.
The LFE Wines also feature proudly in both the official recipe book of the event as the selected wine pairings for the two theatre dishes and in specially produced Tasting Note take-aways provided to consumers at the theatre and visitors to the Wines of Chile stand.
LFE Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Henrietta Green - Christmas Canapés
Blue Cheese and bacon, caper & anchovy spread, King Prawns sautéed with Ginger & Chilli
LFE Reserva Shiraz Cabernet Rosé 2009
James Nathan - Baby Squid, Chorizo & Feta
Over three days the whole event showcased a feast of culinary delights with plenty going on and lots to eat and drink from Friday right through to the Sunday.
A must for 2010 - I’m hungry again thinking about it!

The London Wine Show 2009
Bodegas Muriel & Wines from Spain
Business Design Centre, London
22nd-25th October 2009
The 2009 London Wine Show event was a great success with corks popping left, right and centre, celebrity experts, wine walks, tasting theatres and more!
Our Spanish winery partner, Bodegas Muriel’s wines were there to meet as many of the 12,000 visitors over the four days as possible.
The show provided a great opportunity not only to introduce and engage new people with Muriel’s wines but also to present the wider Muriel range and its diversity. From connoisseurs to new enthusiasts all feedback was greatly valued.
We are delighted again at just how well the wines were received and how the special show prices meant many a happy visitor heading off home with some fabulous rioja for the price tag.
The Rioja range from Bodegas Muriel are made from 100%Tempranillo grapes sourced from the Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa regions producing wonderfully complex, well-balanced wines, with the Gran Reserva being aged in American and French oak barrels for at least two years (decanting every 6 months) , followed by a minimum of 3 years aged in bottle.
Participating Wines
-Muriel CVC NV
-Muriel JME 2007
